A 4.0 GPA at Purdue Universtiy, along with honors at California State University,
Long Beach and Loyola Law School, Michael Cernyar served several
years with a member of the Federal Public Defender’s Office Indigent Panel. Eventually his career led him to the Cochran
Firm before starting the Law Offices of Michael K. Cernyar. Criminal defense is his passion. Mr. Cernyar has never been - and never will
be - a prosecutor.
As a criminal defense attorney, Mr. Cernyar's cases range from DUI, identity
theft and drug charges to complex computer crimes and high-profile murders. He works in close partnership with the finest
investigators and expert witnesses in criminal justice.
Among his cases was the successful defense of a Norco man who had over one-million rounds of ammunition, along with other weapons. In addition, Michael Cernyar was retained by Robert Blake in the matter People v. Robert Blake. Furthermore, Michael Cernyar has represented those in the medical profession, business executives, law enforcement officers, computer savvy individuals, blue-collar workers, along with the indigent.
Mr. Cernyar frequently speaks as a guest legal commentator on national
television. He has appeared on The
Verdict with Paula Todd, along with ABC and CBS news. In addition, Mr. Cernyar has been interviewed
by numerous newspapers, including the Wall Street Journal.
Mr. Cernyar belongs to the many legal organizations, including the American
Bar Association, National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, California
Attorneys for Criminal Justice, California Public Defenders Association, and
the Los Angeles County Bar Association.
